Charming trivia! Just found out via BB that Toblerone's logo hides a bear somewhere in its symbol (yep, in that lil' monochrome Matterhorn silhouette). Toblerone has long been a wonderful example of the importance of design in branding and now it's in a class with FedEx for using subtle graphic cues in their visual identities.
Check it all out here.
There's a darn good list of internal branding tips over at BSI. I've used quite a few of them myself along the years, so I can warrant they're for real. The most valuable, in terms of long-term impact of your (the consultant's) work is:
Help [clients] achieve their objectives through brand-enhancing initiatives. That is, tie what you do to others’ objectives.
If you can achieve that, genuine and eduring success is yours against all hardships, believe me.
After more than five years of uninterrupted existence, today I broadcasted the 300th issue of The Weekly Wire. I enjoyed making every one of them and I bet I'll still do by the time I reach the 1000th :)
